Brecon Beacons Christmas Wedding, Jodie and Jonathan

One day, back in December 2016 I had a pleasure to photograph this beautiful Christmas wedding on the edge of a wonderful Brecon Beacons National Park. Jodie and Jonathan, whose names I kept misspelling too many times,  were getting ready in their family town near Neath, Swansea and had a heart warming reception in Pen-y-Cae Inn. This lovely pub and well known wedding venue has won some prestigious food awards and I can myself confirm the quality of food is absolutely superb!

I arrived early in the morning to photograph Jodie and her bridesmaids getting ready. Everything was so well organised and all the girls were only putting some finishing touches. This was really contagious and helped me to go calmly with the flow of the day. So there I was… taking time to photograph the details which I absolutely love photographing, in beautiful arrangements of Christmas lights and Christmas tree. Bridesmaids relaxed and chatty, sipping Prosecco and taking thousands of selfies to document this beautiful day along me. 🙂

The day moved on very quickly and smoothly on to the ceremony where everybody was impatiently waiting to see Jodie’s absolutely stunning Stella York wedding dress.

She appeared few minutes late, as it supposed to be and stole peoples hearts when walking down the aisle with two most wonderful men, her dad and step dad.

I loved the fact how they walked, arm in arm, both supporting and honoured. I loved how they all got stuck half way through the aisle and burst with laughter as nobody anticipated this busyness in the narrow ceremony aisle. 🙂

After most romantic ” I do” everybody moved to the reception, chit chats and wishes. It was lovely to observe this family energy, the warmth, love and kindness. Perhaps it was still post Christmas mood, perhaps the wedding mood or perhaps I just happened to witness a simple but never overestimated humanity that is longed to be seen in peoples relations.

The day finished up with energetic dance floor movements and romantic sparkles outside the venue. Up to this day I kept thinking where the groom has been vanishing all this time and why I have managed to capture only few photos of him and bride together 😀

Its pretty impossible to describe in a short blog how lovely wedding it was. I hope the photos reflect at least a small fraction of it.

I wish you Jodie and Jon all the best for your wonderful future together. I feel really privileged you chose me as your wedding photographer. Thank you. x

PS. I am off to comb Moana’s tangled hair. 🙂
