The Citadel Wedding, Shropshire of Sarah-Jane and Steve
I arrived at The Citadel wedding Shropshire early in the morning for the bridal preparation. Sarah-Jane was just finishing her makeup and dad was hiding from the photos (he mentioned he didn’t like his photos taken and yet never told me off hundreds and hundreds of photos later). I enjoyed the time at home, all was organized perfectly and on time as my bride was just this type of person.
Only thing was to wait for the showers to pass and sneak out to the church.
I know many couples (and many photographers) always pray for the best weather on the wedding day. I know it sometimes can destroy the beautiful decoration, the dress, the hair but I also know it will never destroy the love. If we have two people out there, madly in love the rain (even if its the heaviest) is not going to change anything. I started liking the rain after that wedding I have to say (well I am sure I will regret what I said the next time when my camera gets wet)
Next Stop, Church
This was the longest waiting (all because of the rain) for the bride to arrive. Perhaps it wasn’t even this long but when the sharp raindrops shooting right across your ankles, it is really prolonging. Sarah-Jane was waiting for the right moment to leave the house as even the biggest umbrella wasn’t big enough to protect her from the amount of water pouring down from the sky. And she nailed it! Right in between the showers.
Funny enough when the beautiful ceremony finished the sun came out and there was not even a trace of rain.
The Citadel and The Crowd
What could be a better combination for your wedding day than an amazing venue, The Citadel run by wonderful Alex who is beyond hospitable, and your cracking family and friends? I know today for sure this is the best recipe for an amazing wedding. Believe me or not, but this will diminish your decoration, makeup, and hair as it will leave the memories in your head for all your life. People will remember how they felt, not what your dress was like. If you are just at the stage of planning your wedding please make sure you choose best wedding suppliers and select carefully the funniest people in the family.
I loved the family/friend interactions. I loved the full of humor speeches where literally everyone was laughing. The dance floor with most amazing boogies. The natural, effortless peoples interactions of different ages and groups. I am sure this was just an amazing bunch happened to meet at the right place and at the right time but I am also convinced that planning this wedding was one of an achievement.
